Paper comes into direct contact with air and easily absorbs moisture, resulting in high moisture content and directly affecting printing quality and physical properties. Storage method

Paper generally has strong moisture absorption properties, so when it becomes damp, it will deform and, in severe cases, develop mold spots. The environment for stacking paper must be clean, dry, and well ventilated. The paper warehouse should be kept dry and the roof should not leak rain. The window should be small and high to prevent exposure to sunlight, otherwise the heating of the paper and the evaporation of a large amount of moisture will make the white paper brittle, yellow, and prone to breakage; Colored paper fades and can also cause deformation due to warping.

When stacking paper, use wooden sleepers to elevate it to a height of about 25mm from the ground and avoid getting too close to walls.

1、Keep the storage warehouse dry and control humidity

If conditions permit, add dehumidifiers or turn on small fans to increase convection. When necessary, we can add some desiccants or the like, which can effectively prevent damage to paper products caused by humid air.

It is prohibited to store chemicals or goods with high water or oil content in the paper storage warehouse. Paper should not be placed together with easily deliquescent items, otherwise it is prone to moisture absorption and deterioration.

2、Regularly check the card board to prevent contact with the ground paper

Regularly inspect the bottom card board for damage and prevent direct contact between paper products and the ground. The height of the card board should be at least ten centimeters.

Choose a whole flat board instead of a strip board for the card board. This can greatly reduce the direct contact surface between paper and humid air, thereby achieving a moisture-proof effect.

3、Tight and standardized enclosure to reduce air contact

The membrane should be tightly wrapped, not just one layer for formal work. The surrounding film is also synchronized with the cardboard, and whether the surrounding film is standardized and tight, and whether it can block the contact between water vapor and paper to the maximum extent, plays a crucial role.

If the entire board of paper is not used up after unpacking, it should be promptly sealed with a protective film to reduce the contact time between the paper and humid air.

4、Reasonably arrange paper and accelerate air circulation

There should be a large gap between the paper placement and the cardboard to facilitate air circulation. After the day clears up, you can open the windows to speed up indoor air circulation and expel moisture from the warehouse.

In use

As the rainy season approaches, paper is prone to develop issues such as ruffles. Please pay attention to the following three points:

① After cutting the paper, it should be packaged in a timely manner and not exposed to environments with high humidity.

② After opening the packaging of the paper, the remaining unused paper must be wrapped with film and sealed in a timely manner to prevent humid air from entering.

③ During the printing process, paper may sometimes be printed in batches. In this case, if it is rainy, it is recommended to wrap the unfinished paper with wrapping film and cover it with a wooden cover to prevent the paper from absorbing moisture from the air.

Storage period

Usually, the storage period of paper should not be too long. Even if the conditions for storing paper are good, it will change color and deteriorate if stored for too long. If the paper is stored for too long, the copperplate paper will turn yellow and lose powder; Newsprint turns yellow and brittle; The packaging paper changes color and its strength decreases; Yellow cardboard and cardboard can become moldy and spoiled, among other things.
