1. PH value control
PH value is the key to determining the success or failure of water-based ink manufacturing and printing suitability technology. When using water-based ink, it is necessary to precisely control its viscosity and pH value. Its pH value should be controlled between 8.0-9.5. If the pH value of water-based ink is too high and the alkalinity is too strong, it will affect the drying speed of the ink, resulting in dirty back and poor water resistance; If the pH value is too low and the alkalinity is too weak, the viscosity of the ink will increase, the drying speed will become faster, and it is easy to cause defects such as dirty plates, paste plates, and bubbles.

The PH value of water-based ink is mainly maintained by amine compounds. During the printing process, due to the continuous volatilization of amines in the binder, the pH value will decrease, affecting the printing quality. In practical control, on the one hand, it is necessary to avoid the leakage of amine substances as much as possible, such as covering the upper cover of the ink tank; On the other hand, stabilizers should be added to the ink tank at regular and quantitative intervals. When the pH value is low, pH stabilizers or a small amount of alkaline substances can be added; When the pH value is too high, solvents or diluents can be added for polar dilution.
2. Temperature and humidity control
The temperature and humidity in the printing workshop are closely related to the drying and color of water-based ink printing products. When the relative humidity reaches 95% compared to 65%, the drying time is almost twice as long. Meanwhile, the dry humidity of the substrate itself directly affects the drying time of the printed material.
3. Ventilation level and printing material stacking method
As oxygen or air blowing is a factor that promotes the oxidation and polymerization of water-based ink and the formation of a strong ink film, the ventilation level and printing material stacking method in the printing workshop can also affect the drying speed of ink.
4. Printing material
The pH value of the printing material also affects the drying and gloss of water-based ink. When water-based ink is printed on the surface of paper, it is affected by the pH value of the printing paper. When the acidity of paper is high, the coupling agent used as a drying agent in water-based ink does not work, and the alkali in water-based ink is neutralized, leading to earlier drying; When the alkalinity of paper is high, water-based ink dries slowly, and sometimes limits the ability of water-based ink to achieve complete water resistance.
